Most of us are accustomed to using single-use period products, such as pads or tampons. While they may seem like the most convenient option, they also result in a lot of waste being sent to landfills. Additionally, they also aren’t the best choice if you’re concerned about your intimate health.

Benefits of menstrual cups

Menstrual cups are one of the most popular reusable alternatives to single-use products available in the market today. A single cup can last as long as 10 years of use if maintained properly, which prevents a lot of waste from being sent to landfill. Additionally, they also help combat irritation and dryness which can be caused by tampon use and provide a lot more comfort, since they can stay in your body for up to 12 hours.

Learning to use menstrual cups

The one slight downside of using menstrual cups is that it may take you a while to get used to using it and inserting it into the perfect position. For some people, this may be as quick as getting it right on their first period with the cup – but it may also take others a few cycles to master. Don’t give up if the cup doesn’t feel right the first time you use it – it can take a bit of practice.
